Natty Hatty Academy is launching for the 2026-27 school year!
OUR PROGRAM
Natty Hatty Academy is designed for youth players fully committed to their hockey development. The Academy is led by Coach Kelly Stirzel and Natty Hatty coaching staff. Athletes under 11 years old require approval from Kelly Stirzel.
Our student-athletes engage in a full day of combined on- and off-ice training. Mornings focus on ice skills and game concepts, while early afternoons are dedicated to strength and conditioning, shooting, and stick-handling. Players are expected to demonstrate discipline, focus, and maturity.
We provide a structured, developmental environment for home-schooled athletes who have the ability and aspirations to play at the collegiate level.

Testimonials
We take pride in mentoring our players, and help guiding them to the next level. Hear from some of our player’s and parent’s experiences attending our camps from over the years.

Kelly Strizel has worked with my son since he was a mite and still today works with Cooper who is now playing at Shattuck’s St Mary’s U15. Throughout all these years, Coach Kelly has always been there to provide words of wisdom and encouragement to my son. My son knows Coach Kelly will be there for him whenever he needs him. Cooper always enjoyed spending time on the ice with Kelly as he made the drills and clinics challenging and engaging . He is an amazing coach and friend but more importantly an amazing role model for my son.

I want to send my sincerest gratitude to Kelly and his entire staff at Natty Hatty. He has not only been a mentor and friend to my son Ace but he’s become a member of our family and Ace’s go to when he needs the big brother push. Kelly’s work ethic and drive have been most impressive as he continues to teach every athlete with respect, care for the love for the game, and what we as parents do to get them to the rink every session. With the help of Coach Kelly and Natty Hatty, Ace was able to advance to the AAA level which helped pave his way to playing for Mount Saint Charles and ultimately committing to play Division 1 hockey at the University of Maine.
I have had 4 boys involved with Natty Hockey Camps. Natty Hatty has helped my boys make the jump to AAA. Natty Hatty takes a wholistic approach to hockey. Meeting each student where they are with the sole goal of making them the best they can be! The instructors have played the game at high levels. They share their knowledge and expertise in a detailed, encouraging, and fun way. I highly recommend Natty Hatty to any parent who wants their kid to not only get better, but to get their game to the next level.
Natty Hatty provides players of all ages & skill levels top-notch instruction and teaches players the fundamental tools they need to take their game to the next level. Our 2 boys, Drew 14UAAA and Jesse 10UA have enjoyed attending this camp for multiple years now. Coach Kelly Stirzel and his staff
have provided them with a variety of training exercises on, & off ice which has helped them to develop their skills and abilities. Natty Hatty is a great camp with great coaches, and overall a fantastic experience for young hockey players.
I would like to thank Coach Kelly and Natty Hatty. While training under the program, I was able to improve my skills and build up lots of confidence. Training with Natty Hatty helped me compete at and elevate my game to the AAA level. At Natty Hatty I tested and elevated my work ethic, learned how to compete, and improved my skills. With these instilled skills and mindset, I was able to earn the most improved player award at Elite Hockey Academy. I highly recommend Natty Hatty to anyone who wants to improve their game and be part of a great program.
When I first heard about Natty Hatty camps, I thought to myself what a creative name for a hockey camp. Turns out the founder was my son’s favorite bench boss, Coach Kelly Stirzel. What better way to have my son excel in hockey while working with his favorite coach. Not only does Natty Hatty help kids work on getting better skill-wise, but it teaches kids to love the sport and have fun on the ice. The
years my son Alex spent at Natty Hatty camps played a large factor in helping him pursue his dream of playing AAA hockey.
My son has been attending Natty Hatty camps since the beginning and has not missed any of the summer camps. It has been the program that we rely on to learn and develop new skills, to build his strengths, and to strengthen his weaknesses. Coach Kelly and the Natty Hatty coaches have provided feedback that’s both insightful and unbiased. They take training seriously but also allow the players to have fun on the ice. Although the on-ice sessions are fast paced, they also emphasize focus on the details of specific drills and skills. The attention to detail of the coaches is always highly appreciated, and my son has learned so much from the coaches- both hockey skills and life lessons. He has met lifelong friends from camp, and he always looks forward to it. It has been a priceless experience each time.
